ToggleItem & Interactive Sort

I have a report that uses both the interactive sort and a toggleitem. When I expand an item then do a sort all my expanded items collapse and go back to the top of the page. Surely I must be missing something simple but how to you keep the expanded items from collapsing and going back to the top of the page. The items sort correctly but it's a pain to find the row again that was toggled and have to expand it again.
