I have been given a task to see if this can be done or not. We have a report that works well in current environment, in north america. Now, we are going international, meaning our report will need to be able to support different language other than English. I did my research, went through some of the post in this forum and i googled too, but cannot find a concrete answer if this can be done. With this new requirement, our database will need to be able to store foreign characters set like French, Russian, German, Portuguese, Spanish, and down the road, Chinese and Indian.
In current report, is there any function that I could use to translate the text used in the report? I know, SSRS has localization where we can set the Language to other countries. And that will only helps to format currency, numbers, dates, and not translating the actual word. Is there any translator that we could install in the report server, and be called from reports to translate this text? Btw, I'm using SSRS 2008.
Any helps and inputs in this is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
