Custom Report Item for rendering HTML tables

I have some HTML stored in a varchar in SQL Server that I want to render in Reporting Services 2008.  As standard, it seems SSRS08 will render HTML but only a limited number of tags are supported.  Unfortunately, HTML tables (which are not supported by SSRS08) appear in the source data quite often so these are rendered as normal text on the report which isn't what we're after.

As I understand it, this sort of thing can be achieved through the use of a Custom Report Item.  The idea being that the CRI reads the HTML, generates an image of the fully rendered HTML on-the-fly which then gets included on the report.  I think this would satisfy our requirements.  I had hoped that someone had developed a CRI for this purpose but I've searched the web and can't find anything.

So, does anyone know where I might find/buy a CRI that will render HTML in SSRS08?
