I'm not sure if the title tells you what I'm trying to do.
In any case I will elaborate. This is a the first time since the basic SSRS training that I am trying to use SSRS so I'm rusty. I plan to go thru the tutorial and learn more, but for now, I need to do something that I hope you guys can help me with.
Someone (who is no longer here) designed a bunch of reports and left us the rdl files. But he didn't save the solution (sln) file. Usually, I just double click on the .sln file and everything opens up in the designer, but in this case I don't have the sln file so I can't open the rdl files.
I was told to create a new solution and "Add" those rdl files into the newly created solution. Before I added the rdl files, I created the Shared Data Source with the name that the rdls are expecting to find.
Is this all it takes or did I miss something? I ask because after I added the rdl files, I can open the reports in the designer but when I try to preview the report, I get an error that seems to indicate that it is still looking for something else in the solution.
Please let me know if my question is not clear.
