I am trying to get a SharePoint 2013 / PowerView environment working correctly with a SQL 2012 Analysis Services Tabular database.
I create the BSIM file (specifying the SQL instance and the database name) but I always get the following error message:
An error occurred while loading the model for the item or data source 'https://teamsite.mjh.local/Data Connections/TEST.bism'. Verify that the connection information is correct and that you have permissions to access the data source.
I can connect perfectly fine from Microsoft Excel but PowerView refuses to connect.
Some information about my environment
SharePoint web application running on one machine (SP2013). SSRS (both Reporting Services and PowerPivot service applications) and SSAS are running on a different machine (SP2013BI).
Service application account has full read access to both the SSAS instance, the cube database (full access role) and the data connection library.
The full error is shown below.
