Report Builder 3.0 through Risk Performance Manager - "operation has timed out"

Hello folks - would appreciate your advice/suggestions.

NOTE: I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to more than one computer at a time (internet, servers...)

I've built a custom report in Risk Performance Manager (RPM - this uses Microsoft SQL Server Report Builder) drawing on two different data sources in Active Risk Manager (ARM).

To get round the issue of two different data sources in one report I implemented two sub-reports held in a master report. Each sub-report is set up to display one risk ID per page with a filter setup and they "ask for" a parameter. In the master report I've put the sub-reports in a list and feed the subreports a risk ID... Then I applied conditional formatting to various data fields and tidied up the look of the report.

Hope that makes sense to you - I wasn't 100% when building it and was using two different guides...

THE ISSUE: it used to take an age to run even with a small number of risks. I think I clocked 4 minutes for one risk and 8 minutes for twenty at one point. Then since last Thursday it is taking even longer (8 minutes for one risk this morning) and is often simply timing out (on 10 minutes precisely).

QUESTION: from the descpription do you see any issues with how I've set this up? is it possible that the servers at work are setup wrong to allow RPM to run efficiently? any other suggestions of things to look into?

Many thanks - sorry for the lack of concision!
