We have a windows forms based application and that uses SSRS Report Viewer control to display reports.
This is causing the data transfer over the network to be high(in MBs) as it uses GDI for report display.
Since the application runs on work locations that have network bandwidth of around 1Mbps, we would want to reduce the data size being transferred during report generation. [We want an alternative to image transfer]
Has someone tried using the SSRS report Viewer control for Web in winforms application? Since this uses HTML formatting to display reports, we believe, the size of data transfer will be optimized.
Has anyone tried something of this sort? Any pointers on using the report viewer web control in the winform application will be really helpful.
