SQL Server 2014 Reporting Services cannot upload reports created in VS2015

We SQL 2014 reporting services server. We've created reports in VS2015 that work locally with no problem. When I try to upload the reports to the Report Server, I get the following error:

The definition of this report is not
valid or supported by this version of Reporting Services. The report definition
may have been created with a later version of Reporting Services, or contain
content that is not well-formed or not valid based on Reporting Services
schemas. Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace
'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2016/01/reportdefinition'
which cannot be upgraded. (rsInvalidReportDefinition)

This is at the top of the report:

<Report xmlns:rd="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/reporting/reportdesigner" xmlns:cl="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/componentdefinition" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2016/01/reportdefinition">

I've been researching, but am just more confused. I haven't come across anything that explains what to do and how to upload our reports?  Upgrading the report server isn't up to us, so if that is involved, should we just reproduce the reports in VS2013 and hope that works?

Thanks for any help!
