I have 8 Parameters on my SSRS report. The first 4 parameters, the user can select All or a specific value. For the other 4 parameters i.e., Parameter 5-8, the user can select All, or a specific value or N/A.
My intention is that if the user selects any of the values in parametrs 1-8 (but not value N/A in Parameter 5-8) then matrix values will contain columns related to those 8 parameters. When the user selects any values in the 1st 4 parameters, and N/A in any or all of the remaining 4 parameters, the matrix should not show those columns that contain N/A.
The hide feature(column visibility) does not do what I realy want. It will hide the columns but the data in the matrix will keep repeating because of the hidden columns.
Is there a way to dynamically create a matrix based on the parameter values I select? Possible scenarios include but not limited to the following examples:
(Key: Parameter 1: Country, Parameter 2: Region, Parameter 3: Time Zone, Parameter 4: State, Parameter 5: City, Parameter 6: Zip code, Parameter 7: Area Code, Parameter 8: UTC Offset)
1. If I select USA, East,EST, NY,N/A, N/A, N/A, UTC - 6
a. I only want to see col 1,2,3,4,8. There is only 1 row
2. IF I select USA, All, All, All, All, All, All, All
a. I want to see all the 8 columns. There will be 31 rows
3. IF I select USA, East, All, All, N/A, N/A, N/A, N/A
a. I only want to see 4 columns There will be only 8 rows
Please note I did not cascade the parameters as there are countries that will not have values in some of the columns.
Thanks,
Moni
