Subscribed reports creating empty Excel files

Running reports on SSRS for SQL Server 2008 R2.  I am starting the process of migrating about 200 Crystal Reports from an Infoview environment to the SSRS platform. I can replicate the reports in the Report Builder or BIDS 2008 with few problems, I see data when I run them in the Preview screen.  They work fine when I deploy them to our SSRS server, I see data when I click the links in the SSRS folders.

My problem is that when I set them up with subscriptions either as an emailed Excel or an Excel file written to a Windows file share on our network, the Excel files are empty.  If I click on the report link in the My Subscription screen it works fine, I see the data.  It is just when the subscription runs that the result is an empty Excel file.

I don't think my Subscriptions are set up incorrectly. The setup screen for Subscriptions is pretty fool proof, I choose Excel as the Render Format and check the Include Report checkbox for the email subscriptions and Add a File extension & Overwrite an existing file for the Windows file share ones.

I hope someone can give me an insight into why this is happening.
