Report Subscription - Windows File Share - Not writing file to the shared folder

I was trying to create a report subscription as the steps mentioned in below link.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/subscriptions/subscriptions-and-delivery-reporting-services?view=sql-server-2017

I’ve tried both Standard and Data-Driven Subscriptions. And was trying the Windows File Share.

The issue I’m facing now is that, the report file which is generated by the subscription is not writing to the shared folder I’ve created in the Report Server.

Here is what I did.

  • Made sure the user is in Administrators Group

  • Here is my subscription (Owner and file share access Credentials are same/ same user has access to the Shared Folder as well)

  • I’ve tried adding a File Share account (the same WINDOWS user) as well because that is another option I can choose as shown above in the red highlighted

  • I’ve a question here: You can see it is mentioned in the screen shot above that “an account that is different from the account used for the Reporting Services service account”. This refers to the Service Account I mentioned below?
  • Service Account is set as Virtual Service Account (I don’t know this matters)

  • Always when the report subscription runs throws some ACCESS DENIED Error:
  • “Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.WindowsAuthz5ApiException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.WindowsAuthz5ApiException: Windows returned a ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED error when Reporting Services attempted to call the Windows Authz APIs. If this issue persists the Reporting Services account may not possess permission to perform authentication checks. Check the Windows Authz documentation for more information and details on diagnosing issues. Authz method: AuthzInitializeContextFromSid, Error code: 5, UserName: WINDOWS\TestUser”
  •  I’ve tried several solutions in different forums and they’ll didn’t help (here are some links I’ve gone through):
