Subscriptions cannot be created because the credentials used to run the report are not stored, or if a linked report, the link is no longer valid.

I have looked through everything on my SSRS, and cannot figure out why it won't let me create a subscription. I get a warning sign over top of create link when I try to even create one. I am using Windows Integrated Security on both the data source and the report that I am trying to create a subscription for.

I do have the correct SQL server connection string. I just can't figure out why it won't run.

I tried a a shared data source. A custom data source. I have put in credentials for it to run, and the report runs fine. I've used Windoes integrated security. Not sure what I am missing.

SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services website timeout

$

I have encountered a situation with my SSRS website, where it is not correctly loading pages, and report subscriptions are not going out.  Some of the site administrative pages load okay, such as "Properties" on the root folder, or Site Properties.  But when I try to load the directory with the list of reports, the list of subscriptions, or the reports themselves, the website returns with an error page stating that there was an internal error (rsInternalError), and to check the error logs for more details.  From the error logs, I am seeing that there is a timeout issue, but I am not quite sure on the cause of the this timeout, especially since this problem has never occurred in all the years of usage, and no configuration changes have been made.

It is a SQL Server 2005 reporting instance, running on a box with Server 2003 on it.  The database services are running on a Server 2008 box (same SQL edition, 2005 Standard).  This SQL Server Reporting instance has been running without issue for years.  There were Windows updates applied to the servers back on 8/17, but things have been running fine up until this morning.

The error I find in the Report Server logs is; can someone help me diagnosis what the cause might be:

How to add a report parameter to let user choose < (less than), > (greater than), or all records

I have  pretty basic report that select employee time sheets.  I want to add parameter that lets the user filter on the HoursWorkedPerWeek column.  I want them to be able to choose to select only records with < 40 hours, > 40 hours, or all records.  I can get the numeric part of the WHERE clause from a parameter no problem, but not sure how to handle the different/changing  operators (<,>, etc.)

Thanks!

Hey There,

I have a requirement that, There should be a date type parameter with drop down list of options Current Date, Current Week,Previous Week,Custom.

Start Date parameter, If I select above options, date should get populated automatically. But when I select Custom,DatePicker UI should appear and allow me to select manually.

End Date parameter, If I select above options, date should get populated automatically. But when I select Custom,DatePicker UI should appear and allow me to select manually.

I was able to get the dates populated in Start Date and End Date textBoxes.

For StartDate

=Switch(
Parameters!DateType.Value = "Current Date",Today,
Parameters!DateType.Value = "Current Week",DateAdd("d", 1 - DatePart(DateInterval.WeekDay, Today,FirstDayOfWeek.Monday), Today),
Parameters!DateType.Value = "Previous Week",DateAdd(DateInterval.Day, -6,DateAdd(DateInterval.Day, 1-Weekday(today),Today)))

For EndDate,

=Switch(
Parameters!DateType.Value = "Current Date",Today,
Parameters!DateType.Value = "Current Week",Today,
Parameters!DateType.Value = "Previous Week",DateAdd(DateInterval.Day, -0,DateAdd(DateInterval.Day, 1-Weekday(today),Today)))

But When I select Custom, I am not getting Date Picker UI. What should I do to get Datepicker . It is urgent. Please help me.

Using Report Viewer Control with Winform Host in WPF and Custom controls instead of Toolbar.

Hello;

I have a WPF application that uses Reporting Service report Viewer Control.

The controls of the original toolbar are not very "finger friendly", they are a little bit to small for a touch application.

For that reason i wan' to access the functions of the toolbar by using my own controls.

For a first test, i wan't o navigate true the report by using buttons from the "normal " VS2010 Toolbox.

Unfortunately i haven' found the methods i have to use within the report viewer api ?

Does someone have an example, how to control the behaviour of the report viewer from "outside"

Thanks in advance.

how to add the total for a group in a row below that group

My requirement is to add a row below the group 'resources' which should display total billable, total non billable and total. This same thing I have implemented for a group 'project'. But when I try to insert row 'inside group below' its getting added in the next group. That will give the same result but it is confusing to the user. Can someone please help me this. I am not getting the issue here as I can achieve the same thing for one group but not for the other.  I am not able to send the snapshot of my report here. Please let me know email address will email those.

Cascading Report Parameters Error Despite Order in Report Data Pane

$

I am trying to adjust a somewhat detailed report created by another person.  Currently there are only 2 parameters.  I use the arrows in the Report Data pane to change the cascading dependencies but get the error The report AppID has a DefaultValue or a ValidValue that depends on the report parameter Status. Forward dependencies are not valid. After researching this error, it seems like all I am supposed to do is change the order of the parameters in the Report Data pane.  I feel like there is some other aspect involved that links the parameters together.  I'm guessing the dataset queries are supposed to be adjusted but I am not sure.

Thanks in advance!

Expression displaying Error

Hi All, hope someone can help me with this.  I have SSRS 2008 and using BIDS 2005 to write a report.  I have a report that I'm calculating a column.  The calculation is (InvoicedAmount - Total Costs)/InvoicedAmount.  Sometimes InvoicedAmount = $0.  In those cases, my column was returning #Error because it was trying to divide by 0.  So, I tried both expressions below and neither work.  When entering the expression, neither show a syntax error and the report will run, but the column will show #Error and the output shows "The Value expression for the textbox 'Margin' contains an error: attempted to divide by zero." If InvoicedAmount is $0, I want to display $0, otherwise I want to run the calculation.  What am I doing wrong?

=IIF(Fields!InvoicedAmount.Value=0,Fields!InvoicedAmount.Value,

((Fields!InvoicedAmount.Value-Fields!TotalCosts.Value)/Fields!InvoicedAmount.Value))

OR

=SWITCH(Fields!InvoicedAmount.Value=0,Fields!InvoicedAmount.Value,Fields!InvoicedAmount.Value>0,

((Fields!InvoicedAmount.Value-Fields!TotalCosts.Value)/Fields!InvoicedAmount.Value))

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a solution or suggestion for my Dashboard to be viewed or publish in LCD monitor assign in different area or location in our office/Company. I've already created the query with corresponding result set that will display in the Dashboard to be created. I have in my mind to use Powerpivot in Excel / Sharepoint /SSRS to publish the Dashboard but I dont have yet any idea to start with.

My Requirements is to display the Month to date Shipment transaction and the daily Shipment output in production. this data is related to each other. I need to display this data in an LCD monitor to ensure that all shipments transaction is accounted. This will be the basis of production that the commit qty is doable. The option of records to be extracted should be in a daily @ 6:00am or every hour that start from 6:00am. automatically it refresh the records in the dashboard.

Presently our existing Dashboard is made and published in PowerPoint, it was manually modified the records daily.

Thanks.

OK, I have installed SSDT on my laptop and was able to create and deploy a database project successfully to our server.  I was also able to create a SSIS project successfully and now I'm testing a SSRS project.

I'm able to build a report successfully but when I click on the preview tab.  I get the following error:

Error prevented the view from loading.

Additional Information:

An error occured while attempting to start the report preview worker process.

However, in the solution explorer I can right click on the report, select Run and the report will popup in a new window and load successfully.

Hi,

We have a requirement in our project to access the Report from Report Server Url and Reporting Services is configured for SharePoint Integrated mode. In our requirement We have to build a  custom Webpart in sharepoint 2010 to display the Report that uses Asp.net Report Viewer.

We are facing a problem in accessing the Report Server Url and binding the SSRS Report to Asp.Net Report Viewer.

We build report in SSRS 2008 and deployed in below url that is SSRS-Sharepoint integrated mode.

Here TabTest is a site and Reports is ReportLibrary in sharepoint.

'http://server5:99/TabTest/Reports/

We are trying to access Report from asp.net user control .Below is the code we are using.

Page_Load of User control

           ReportViewer1.Reset();

           ReportViewer1.ProcessingMode = ProcessingMode.Remote;

          ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportServerUrl = new Uri("http://server5:99/");

           ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportServerCredentials = new ReportServerCredentials("xxx", "xxx", "xxx");

           ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportPath = "/ TabTest/Reports/EPHT_AsthamaRep.rdl";

We get error message saying

Reporting Services 2012 + SharePoint 2010 Subscription Problem

Hi,

I'm running Reporting Services 2012 in SharePoint Integrated Mode. I added successfully the Reporting Services Service Application in SharePoint 2010 Central Administration and configured the subscriptions and alerts part. In order to test the Reporting Services subscription I created a report with Report Builder inside the SharePoint Portal and publish it in a library. I added a Windows File Share subscription with a time schedule and I waited for the report to be exported in the specified path.

The problem is it never executed. The subscription last run value didn't change and the report was not exported. However I can see that the SQL Server Agent ran the job successfully and executed the SQL exec Addevent stored procedure. One event has been inserted in the Event table of the SharePoint Reporting Services Database but nothing in the notification table. I don't know why the Reporting Services Windows Service did not process the pending event... I think it is a security and permission problem but I can't figure out why it didn't work properly.

Thx in advance for your help.

SSIS as a Data Source

I'm using SQLServer 2005 and am trying to create an SSRS report that uses an SSIS package as a data source.  So far, I've:
1. Edited the RSReportDesigner.config file.
2. Created a fairly simple SSIS package that uses a DataReader Destination.
3. Created a shared data source of Type: SSIS and an appropriate connection string (-f "C:\Documents and Settings\apixley\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\JobReportSource\JobReportSource.dtsx" (If I use any other configuration, I get an error that a connection cannot be made.)).
4. Used the name of the DataReader Destination as the query string.

The report seems to see the SSIS package, but I cannot see any Available fields.  When I try to view the report, I get this error:

Warning    1    Deserialization failed: The element 'TableCells' in namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2005/01/reportdefinition' has incomplete content. List of possible elements expected: 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2005/01/reportdefinition:TableCell'. Line 38, position 16.        38    0

What am I missing?

Thanks,
Alex

Sorting in SSRS 2005

Hi,

I am using SSRS 2005 and need some input on below scenario:

I have created one report parameter , for ex., @Param and I am assinging some hard coded values to it for ex., AB, CD, EF...

Now when we select AB from the prompt it should sort the column A and then column B in the report (i.e. from table)

When we select CD from the prompt it should sort the column C and then column D

When we select EF from the prompt it should sort the column E and then column F

Can we achieve this in SSRS 2005? by putting some custom sort expressions?

Please advise.

Thanks
