Hey Guys,

We recently upgraded our SQL 2012 Analysis server to the latest cumulative update. Now, when connecting to our Power View reports inside of SharePoint 2013 we get an error stating that 'An error occured during rendering of the report.'

The error details are pasted below:

SSRS 2008 R2 color palette modify

$

In an existing SSRS 2008 r2 report, my users that use pcs that have a Windows operating system can export their reports to excel using white and a light green color on every other detail line. These users print their reports on a black and white printer and everything is fine.

The problem is for users that work on MAC pcs. These users export their reports to excel and try to print thier reports on a black and white printer. The problem is one line is readable and the other line you can not read. The line that is suppose to be white, is the line that is you can not read.

I believe the problem is due  to the color pallete for SSRS reports is different than the color palette that excel uses. I think I would need to make the color pallete that SSRS uses the same as excel uses. Is this a possible solution for every other print line in one SSRS report?  If I use the custom colors for this SSRS report, will that also modify other SSRS reports that are generated on the same report server?

Thus can you show me how to change the color pallete that ssrs uses so that it matches the color pallete excel uses? Also if you have other suggestions on how to solve these problem, please let me know what your solution is along with code and/or urls that will tell me how to solve this problem.

Query Timeout in Report Builder Design Mode

Hello--

I have a very frustrating problem.  But given that this is a development forum, I'll keep that for my 'Envelope Lickers Rehab' and instead talk about an issue I'm having.

I have a very large query (line-wise) that executes in less than a minute when run from the SQL Management Studio as well as via Excel Services.

It is a stored procedure with one parameter.

When I try to prime the designer with this query it gives me the following message:

"Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
The statement has been terminated."

Any advice would be appreciated.  I've considered cracking open the xml source and manually creating the fields, but I'd rather not go there.

Thanks in advance.

SSRS 2008 R2 - unable to export to Excel

$

When using Chrome or FireFox, if I run the SSRS 2008 R2 report and click on Actions -> Export in the tool bar, seven options flair out on the right, including Excel.

If I use IE 9 or IE 10, I can click on Actions -> Export, but nothing flairs out to the right, unless I put the site in the "local intranet" zone.  Simply putting it in the trusted sites zone did not work.  Interestingly, if you call the report with the windows.open function, the export to Excel feature is available, irrespective of whether the site is in the trusted zone or the local intranet zone.  The export issue only occurs then when the user clicks on it directly in the reports library (SharePoint 2010 SP1).

My question then is how to get the same functionality in IE 9/10 as with Chrome or FireFox, and be able to export to Excel without the "local intranet" zone, which is a non starter from a security standpoint.  Thanks.

TotalCount of Concluded where it is Yes / Total CaseRef * 100. How would I do this in reporting services?

Hi All,

I am having issues with data displayed in the report when deployed to Report Manager.

I am using some expression to calculate the percentage in some of the fields in the report. It works fine (showing correct values) in designer. And I deployed the report to Report Manager.

But It shows #Error in Report Manager for those fields.

Could you please help on this.

Appreciate all and any help.

Hi,

I have an .aspx page which contains a report viewer control. It loads a stacked column chart(local report). It will have some group name in x-axis and respective count in y-axis. But when the count is 0, it is giving some black colored arrows.

I want to remove those arrows. when i searched for it i get answers for ssrs. But I am using VS 2010 local reports.

Can somebody help me to solve this issue?

Thanks,

SSRS Compatibility With IE10

$

Hi

I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 8. The OS comes with IE10 as standard and does not support versions9 or below (or so I believe). Using the print button on the report toolbar causes IE to crash and restart and I am now forced to export reports to PDF in order to print them. This happens not only on our own internal reporting site but also on public websites that use SSRS reports. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is this there a fix available?

Thanks

Steve

I am trying some conditional formatting and cannot get it to work quite right

I am using conditional formatting to try to get different coloured text.

I have a field in a matrix that is a date - if it is less than today then it should be red, if it is between 1 and 35 days in the future it should be orange and if it is outside that it should be green.

I am using the following and all I am getting is red and green, the orange doesn't seem to work as i have probably got the datediff things wrong.

=IIf(Max(Fields!AchievementRecordExpiryDate.Value) < Now(),"Red", IIf(datediff(dateinterval.Day,

Max(Fields!AchievementRecordExpiryDate.Value),NOW()) < 35 And datediff(dateinterval.Day,

Max(Fields!AchievementRecordExpiryDate.Value),NOW()) >= 0, "Orange","Green"))

Any help would be really appreciated

Thanks

Rich

Performing Data Modifications Via SSRS Reports

$

Hi Fellow SSRS Gurus,

I have no idea if this is even possible, but if it is then please share some knowledge of it with me.

I want to make my reports even more useful by being able to actually add functionality that allows a user to click on a section in a report and then for it to actually pass and update relevant tables in the database with user supplied information.

Basically this is like an aspx page, but in SSRS. It doesn't need to do anything other than reacting on a click and performing a change in the database itself.

Has anyone ever attempted this? I'm thinking that there may be some features available to do this but it might be very basic only. This is a great challenge and i'm feeling as though custom code is the way to go, however my skills in the custom code side is very very limited.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated, regardless of whether it's a negative or positive comment or suggestion.

Thanks again Team...

I am currently trying to do the following. I have 2 Textfields, One is Taken from the Dataset (in the Pictures below i have used 400 as a plain number to make things more straight Forward). now what i want is for one of them to be used as a Variable (not sure if this is the right Term) i want the value that Text1 is given to automatically be divided from Text2.

Below you will see the Text1 (named Divide) Properties.

and this is Text2 where I am trying to use the Value of Text 1:

I Know everything about having to Convert The field into an Int or some Number, and everything, what i don't get is how I am supposed to use Textfield1 in Textfield2 ?

Thanks for your Answers in Advance.

How to sum the data labels to a total in my chart diagram?

$

Hi

I am counting order type by a field which can have 3 different values. In a stacked column chart I am displaying the count of those different values, and showing a data label with the count for each order type. See screenshot.

Now I would like to show a line based on the total of each order type. I can see that SSRS already know the number of each order type as it is shown in the labels. How do I add those numbers (shown in the labels) together and get it into a Total field?I would prefer not to alter my SQL query, if possible.
