Running Value Issue

Hi All;

I am using Running value function for the below table

I am using below running value expression

=RunningValue((Fields!new_unitrateValue.Value * Sum(LookupSet(Fields!new_mainprogrammeid.Value & "," & Fields!new_subprogrammeid.Value & "," & Fields!new_outputs.Value & "," & Fields!new_claimmonthid.Value, Fields!new_mainprogrammeid.Value & "," & Fields!new_subprogrammeid.Value & "," & Fields!new_outputs.Value & "," & Fields!new_claimmonthid.Value, Fields!new_programmeoutputid.Value, "ProgrammeOutput").length())),Sum,"Details1")

I need to show  May 14 as 2116

Jun 14 as 4232 after using the running value

But this is not the case

Any help on this is much appreciated

User Getting Errors when lauching Report Builder 3.0

All,

I have a native mode report server 2008 R2 and need to give Report Builder access to some of my power users. I've added a new Report Builder role with the following rights (view reports, view folders, manage models, consume reports) and added it to site settings and give the role system user assignment. When users I assigned to the role come in the report manager portal, they can see the Report Builder app. icon on the menu. When they launch Report builder they are getting the error below. Thanks for your help:

Report Builder 3.0 Fails to launch

I am launching Report Builder 3.0 from a SharePoint site. I am getting the following error

https://sp.web.gs.com/sites/abhi_test/_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0_0.application?SaveLocation=https%3a%2f%2fsp.web.gs.com%2fsites%2fabhi_test%2fShared+Documents resulted in exception. Following failure messages were detected:
+ Unable to install this application because an application with the same identity is already installed. To install this application, either modify the manifest version for this application or uninstall the preexisting application.

So that is funny right... because if the application is already installed, then it should just launch. why does download 78MB and say its already installed?

Edit: On googling I find lot of generic smart client stuff... but nothing specific for Report Builder (launched from SharePoint 2010 site).

MSDNStudent Knows not much!

Setting Page Break based on Number of Months in a matrix

Hi,

I have a matrix showing data group by month(Column group). I added this matrix inside a list control to have page break for each 12 rows. The report has Begin date and end date. There is a requirement like if the begin date starts with say Apr 2011 and end date as Aug 2014, then the first row group of list should show data from Apr 2011 to Dec 2011 and next row group should show from Janualry Month. i.e., Jan-12 to Dec-12(Second Row group), Jan13-Dec13), Third Row Group. Then Jan14 to Aug 14.

if the begin date starts with say Sep 2011 and end date as Aug 2014, then the first row group of list should show data from Sep 2011 to Dec 2011 and next row group should show from Janualry Month. i.e., Jan-12 to Dec-12(Second Row group), Jan13-Dec13), Third Row Group. Then Jan14 to Aug 14.

I tried with below approach to show variable number of rows per page.

Floor((RowNumber(nothing)+9)/12).

I need to tweak above expression some how to achive the actual requirement stated above. Can anyone help me to achive this requirement?

Calculated Field formula not appearing in Power View Field List panel

Hi,

On Power View1 sheet of this workbook, the two PowerPivot calculated Field formulas (First Visit and First date of FY) are not appearing in the Power View Fields panel on the right hand side.

I want to drag client and First Visit (calculated Field) to the Power View.

Why is this happening?

Something wrong with formatting Globals!ExecutionTime: AM becoming A7

Hello,

I am using SSRS 2008 R2 to generate reports.

I used the following expression to display date and time:

=Format(Globals!ExecutionTime,"MMM dd, yyyy, hh:mm:ss tt")

However, I got this:

Jul 11, 2012, 11:08:56A7

What's wrong with it? Why can't I get AM but A7?

Lookup function

Hi All,

I'm trying to join two Datasets, so I would be able to retrive the correct Data depending on if the criteria is met; for example:

=Lookup(First(Fields!countrycode.Value, "DataSet1"), First(Fields!countryCode.Value, "DataSet2"),
(First(Fields!sourceCode.Value, "DataSet2")

but I keep getting the following error messages:

[rsExpressionMissingCloseParen] There is a syntax error in the Value expression for the textrun ‘Textbox52.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]’: ‘)’ expected.

Or is there another function I can use to get the Data out please?

Forwarded Dependencies

I have created a report where the first dataset parameters ask for a begin date and an end date. Then you click on one of the detail lines and it links to another report that I want to use the same parameters as the first report. I get the error about Forwarded Dependancies..  Any ideas

Hi Friends,

I am using below expression to display list of class codes 

=  Max(IIF(Fields!DayNumber.Value=2,LookupSet(Fields!StaffID.Value & Fields!PeriodNumber.Value 
    , Fields!StaffID.Value & Fields!PeriodNumber.Value 
    , Fi)elds!ClassCode.Value
    , "Dataset1"),"")

Which returns

Class1

Class2 

Now i have to calculate count of class codes but when i use .Length for Max value of Lookupset it is giving error.Please help me how to calculate count for Max(Lookupaset)

Is to possible to develop this kind of reports in SQL Server Reporting services 2008 r2.

I have tried with one example but the major grid lines shows only circle it is not changing to below image shape. Please provide your thoughts.

Sort and fill color SSRS

I have one report i want to sort the year as well as month change the background color row wise.

like

 

2011    january          red

            february            red

          march             green

2010

           january            red

           february             green

           march              pink

 

According to the color column text color name   the row  background color has to be change.

How to assign shortcut keys for menu item of asp.net menu control

I am using asp.net menu control. In window application we assign shortcut key through '&' sign for accessing menu item but in asp.net this is not working and there is not any property for access key for menu items. please give me any suggestion.

Move a polygon in SSRS?

Hi all

I newbie in Maps reports and I try to do someting that I don´t kown if it's possible.

Is there any way to "move" a polygon from a map?. I have a spain map but Canary Islands are too for for mainlad and the final result is bad-looking because there are many surface between both, the mainlad and the Islands.

I have tried to find any option but I don't find any option for it.

Condition Formula is not working on Header Matrix!!!

Hi guys,

I have a matrix with months in the group column from Jan thru Dec 

I'm trying to implement a condition if the forecast indicator is found then put asterix at the end of the month. 

Here is the formula

=SWITCH(Fields!HasForecast.Value=FALSE,MonthName(Fields!Periods.Value, True),
		Fields!HasForecast.Value=TRUE,MonthName(Fields!Periods.Value,True)&"*")

HasForecast is a boolean (bit) datatype.


What am I doing wrong? 

The asterix is not showing up and no error

however when I put the formula with asterix (see below) without the condition, it works!

MonthName(Fields!Periods.Value,True)&"*"


I also tried the IIF statement and it didn't work. 

By the way I'm using the IIF statement in the data to highlight the data that is Forecast. 

I'm wondering if this condition won't work on the header.

SUM ROWS HORIZONTALLY IN RDLC REPORT

HELLO,

I am totally confuse how to solve this.

i have a RLDC report with tablix and some columns:

column1      column2       TOTAL

100              150             #Error

250              100

NOW i want the total of column1 and column2 should show in TOTAL.

i used different Expression like this

=sum(Fields!column1.value + Fields!columns2.value)

=sum(Fields!column1.value) + Sum(Fields!columns2.value)

and some more but not succeeded its Showing #Error in Report Priview.

Any Expert having time, Please HELP ME.

Server 2008 R2 64 bit, SSRS 2008 64 bit with Report Builder 3.0 issues with Oracle OLE Driver

Folks, ran out of idea on this issues. Setup as shown at the Title. I can connect via VS 2010  but report builder cannot run properly when setup with connection string. I use a 32 bit Oracle Driver and VS 2010 works well with it, however, Report Builder on SSRS report a bad image issues while attempting to use the same driver.

What have been tried:

1-Already attempted to try to download Oracle ODP drivers 64 bit, but current driver 11g and minor version above 11g does not install, installation failed. So far all chats indicated that Server 2008 R2 does not have a Oracle 64 bit driver provided y Oracle.

Any help is appreciated ....

SSRS 2005 on XP SP2

How does one format a date time parameter as, for example, today's date minus 7? Attempting to use:
=Today() - 7 throws the error "Operator '-' is not defined for types 'Date' and 'Integer'

I would like have records display by grouping in SSRS. for example. if i have many employee id when we run report first page should have details corresponding to employee 1, second page should have details corresponding to employee 2. How do we achieve this in SSRS. Any help much appreciated.
