SSRS - Branding the Web Portal

I am new to this and am perplexed by the branding functionality of the web portal within SSRS. I understand that the brand package comprises 3 files one of which is the logo (LOGO.PNG) file in a zipped file. I copied an XBOX example to see how it works and that all worked a treat. I amended the package to include my own LOGO.PNG file (and a number of different images) to see how that would worked and I repeatedly get the error "The given key was not in the dictionary". If I change the LOGO.PNG image to the original XBOX example image, repackage and rereun then all is well. 

What are the characteristics of the logo.file that must be adhered to? I am creating my image in photoshop as a 275 x 100 pixel image.

Surely it can't be that complicated - what might I be doing wrong?

Multi column and row total

I wants to do the total of last 3 column in one line. Please see beloW. In SSRS I will create an additional column and i want to show the total of 495+393.97+65.8. How can i do that in one line ?

Unmerge Rows in Matrix View of SSRS

Hi,

I am using Matrix view as Dimension is needed in Rows and Columns.

Problem :

I get Merged Cells for Group but need it to be unmerged so that user can download and make Pivot without any difficulty.

Screenshot Attached shows my Problem and what I need any help in this regard will help me a lot.

configure with GMSA

Hi all, 

I am trying to configure scom to use GMSA account for its SSRS database connection account and keep coming across the below errors , this works fine with a standard account configured with the same SQL permissions 

When i attempt to configure report server configuration services database connection all seems well except the web pages cannot load. and I receive the error below

The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. The log on failed. (rsReportServerDatabaseLogonFailed) Get Online HelpThe user name or password is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007052E)

Could not impersonate the user.  LogonUser returned error code 1326

i resorted to completely deleting the report server databases and uninstalled both scom reporting and SSRS reporting. 

a fresh install with the use of only the GMSA account again rendered the web page inaccessible with logon issues. 

so i reconfigured to use the standard account and SSRS  configures OK. 

Has anyone successfully used GMSA Accounts with ssrs?

SSRS Grouping on a Table

Hello Experts,

We have a report without any groups (Cell A1 :E9) and we want to make the SSRS report more meaningful for our scheduling team. Priorty column should be in descending order. I would like to achieve the report (cell A15: E27).

Please find the attached screen shot.

If you share any ideas on how achieve the above will be appreciated.

Add fields in two datasets into a table

Hi there,

I have two datasets and I want to insert  two  fields which belong to two datasets into one table. However, it prompt up error that only one dataset can insert into one table. That's is so upset, I wonder if there are some methods can achieve?

My Subscriptions - the permissions granted to user are insufficient for this operation

I've backed up and restored the ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB database from a 2008 server to 2017 (named instance) and migrated the encryption key along with it. Went through the wizard and everything started successfully.

I can get into My Subscriptions via the cog icon and some other users can do the same, but I have one that gets a "The permissions granted to user <user> are insufficient for this operation". Permissions are controlled by group membership and he is in the same group as the "other" users. Tried the same operation logging in as him on another machine and the problem follows the account and removing/adding him from the group add logging off/on. This user has created subscriptions on his and other peoples reports and these run successfully.

Is there anything else I can check to see where the problem is or has anybody else had this and what was the solution?

I am curious if SSRS have new outlook , just as some other website, it allows user to drag parts of its elements and arrange to have new look.

If so, how could we do it, i haven't found any setting or changes that I can do on that website.

Drill through report to a report located in different folder

Hi experts,

We have written several dozen reports for one of our apps. 

To deploy these reports in an organised way we have written an app that deploys the reports to a SSRS Report Portal directory structure - most of these reports will include one or more fields with a drill through action. 

My issue - a drill through report (it appears) needs to be in the same directory as its "parent" - and therefore I end up having to deploy a single report multiple to times to multiple directories.

A good example is our "Dashboard folder" holding all of high level dashboards but with multiple levels of drill through - so I Dashboards folder now holds a good majority of our reports where I'd like it to hold only the "dashboard report" and for drill through to find the appropriate report.

I've looked at Linked reports but this isn't what I'm after. 

The best thing I can see to do is to use the Hidden property when a report is deployed as a child. This will take quite a bit work to setup so I'm hoping for a better way.

SSRS PDF fails on CVAA PDF Readability Compliance

We are using SSRS to generate invoices that are required to be CVAA compliant. And we found SSRS PDF format exported files are not tagged, which fails in any accessibility check in the first place.

Will the PDF engine have accessibility compliance?

SSRS 2017 REST API - PUT method doesn't seems to be working

Hi - Has anyone tried SSRS 2017 rest api and was able to successfully make a api call using PUT method to update any of the report / folder property.

I am able to successfully do a GET,POST, DELETE but not PUT, not sure if I am missing anything here.

Any help !!

Hello,

I have migrated my old SSRS server to a new one (Winserver2008R2 & SQL2008 => Winserver 2016 & SQL2019). When I run the reports locally in Preview mode (Visual studio) they work, but when I try to run them from my workstation i get an error message;

  • An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted. 
  • The execution failed for the shared data set 'DataSet5'. (rsDataSetExecutionError) 
  • The execution failed for the shared data set 'DataSet4'. (rsDataSetExecutionError) 
  • Cannot create a connection to data source ' Data source for shared dataset'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection) 
  • Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'. 

    Where should I start to troubleshoot?

SSRS Reports SQL server 2019 in Native Mode - Getting Authentication error while browsing reports

HI,

While browsing .RDL file, i am getting below error  

  • An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
    • Cannot create a connection to data source 'DataSource1'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
      • Cannot execute as the database principal because the principal "US\ad.pankaj.s.pawar" does not exist, this type of principal cannot be impersonated, or you do not have permission

In the data source, I am using below authetication option

 following credentials --> Type of credentials --> Windows User and and password

Checked the test connection and it show Connected successfully message
