Hi
I am trying to automatically count up the Bradford Factor/Formula for our HR to measure worker absenteeism, the formula for this is Days Ill x Spells of Absence x Spells of Absence. This process currently requires manual input in Excel.
For example
1 instance of absence with a duration of ten days (1 x 1 x 10) = 10 points
3 instances of absence; one of one and two of two days (3 x 3 x 5) = 45 points
5 instances of absence; each of two days (5 x 5 x 10) = 250 points
Now our Practice Management software doesn't have a built in feature for the calculating the Bradford Factor. With this in mind I have no way of knowing if an illness day is a separate spell of absence or a prolonged single spell of illness.
My report does show a Narrative field which I was going to make it compulsory to use "ILL1" on the first day off only, I can then filter the illness days and return only a list of spells of absence.
My question is can I take that list and turn it into a number in report builder? For instance if the user had 10 rows of illness returned (10 separate spells of illness) could I show that number as 10 in a table rather than listing all the details for each row?
So I think I am after a number count for each staff ID as they will all be returned in the same dataset. So CB may have 10 rows, JN may only have 1.
I can then have a separate dataset which totals the days off and I could then come up with the Bradford point score.
I hope this makes sense as I think I lost myself in there somewhere!
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
